Conferences to check out
Ok, some of you may have the chance to get to a lot of specialized conferences each year. Not being so close to a large town, my conference exposure has been pretty small. Here are the ones that I've been to that have helped the most. Most sites have online registration and hotel/travel info.
Children's Pastor's Conference by INCM - If you can only go to one conference, this is the one. The workshops, resources, networking is incredible. I leave each year with so many connections, resources, but better yet so much more rejuvenated. It's my recharge for the year! Here's what the INCM site says about their conference (and it's true), "The Children's Pastors' Conference is the only conference exclusive to Children's Ministry and is the most affordable Children's Ministry conference there is! TIP: Be sure you get your hotel rooms well in advance! Like months in advance.

Puppet Production's Puppetry & Performing Arts Festivals - these are great. They tour the states and you can usually find one close to you. They usually provide workshops on puppetry, clowning, and gospel illusions.
One Way Street's Regional Puppet Festivals - The puppet competitions alone are worth these two day festivals. Actually, this is one of the most reasonably priced events you'll go to. The workshops usually includes workshops on puppetry, clowning and illusions to name just a few. You can also shop their store display for all the books, videos, CDs and puppets. Prices for individual range from $26.00 to $32.00 if registration is less than 10 days before event. Group discounts available. You can also register for just Friday or just Saturday.
