PLEASE READ ME, BEFORE YOU CHECK OUT THE ILLUSION LINKS! Of all the pages on this site, this page is the one I've been most leery of posting. No, not because I think there's anything evil or wrong with Gospel Illusions. On the contrary, I think Gospel illusions are incredible ways of sharing the Gospel to a normally uninterested crowd and also teaching regularly attending church kids. So what's my concern? My concern is that well meaning youth workers will pick Gospel illusions up like they do a puppet. Untrained, and unfamiliar with the necessary methods that make it effective. Now I've never used it before, but hey, the kids won't know the difference. Better yet, let's show 'em how it's done so they'll know it's just a trick. As many have said, "The secret is not the secret. The secret is in the presentation." What? I mean, it's not knowing how the trick is done, it's the message you deliver, your presence on stage, and how well you do the trick. This takes much practice before you get up and do one simple trick. You need to have the trick down as well as your patter or message/story. As far as telling how the trick is done, well . . . first you have ruined the "magic" for all those present. Second, you have ruined it for any other Gospel illusionist doing similar routines. And lastly, it's unethical. Gospel Illusions are sold, demonstrated with the understanding that you will protect the secret of the trick. In all honesty, you are stealing when you give the trick away. So, if I've not run you off, go back and check out some resources I've used. Thanks for the read, now back to the ILLUSIONS
