Below you will find some of my ideas or patter for various tricks I do. I won't include instructions on performing the tricks which you will learn when you purchase the tricks.

Flash Paper- this is a fun, eye-catching, attention grabbing prop. This is a specialty paper that burns quickly, brightly without smoke or residue. Basically, it will just disappear from your hand in a dramatic, fiery flash. I use flash paper with memory verses the most. String a wire across your meeting area and hang pieces of flash paper with the words to your memory verse written on them. (You will need to experiment with what you write the words with. Some inks effect the way the paper burns. Typically, I use a common ballpoint pen.) Now go over the memory verse point to each word as you go. After a couple of tries, light the bottom end of one piece of paper. You can talk about how the Devil doesn't want us to remember God's word. How he tells us it's too much work or a waste of our time. Then ask, do we want the Devil to win by forgetting the memory verse? (the kids always yell, "No!") Then, go back over the verse letting the kids, from memory, fill in the where the blank word was. Repeat the procedure, each time lighting a word at random and seeing if the kids can remember the verse. Continue until there's nothing left and let the kids repeat the verse, and defeating the Devil.

Remember, any time you are using fire to be very careful. Flash paper is a great tool when used responsibly by adults. I never let kids handle or light the paper and as a rule don't tell them where I get the paper. I do, however, stress that it is special paper and for them not to try it at home.

Change Bag - probably the most used item I have is my change bag. It lets me vanish or appear items. I have used it to demonstrate God's love or respect. I've done both the same way. I have a small piece of paper with the word "God's love" written on it. The bag is shown empty. I tell the kids that if they keep God's love to themselves, they don't get anymore. But when they share God's love with others, they receive that love back and more. I now show the kids the bag which has now mysteriously become full of pieces of paper with "God's love" written on them. I do the same with a respect program. The paper says "respect" and I tell kids when they show respect to others, they get respect back.

The uses for this tool is limited only by your imagination! There are various styles and sizes of change bags. Find one that meets your needs and price. My bag has a zipper on the bottom. This lets me pass my hand through the bag to show it's empty.

Hippity-Hop Rabbits - (I have always loved this illusion). I recently did a program and used the "Hippity Hop Rabbits" illusion to illustrate how sometimes we are jealous of others and wish we could be more like them. My two rabbits "Hippity" and "Hop" would wake up in the morning having decided they would be the other and come out looking like the other. Of course they really weren't and would once again be themselves. I repeated this routine with the same patter while working the illusion. Finally, after revealing the rabbits one last time, as themselves, I would tell the crowd, you see we have to be ourselves. Of course, by this time the kids think they've already figured out the trick are trying to get me to turn the rabbits around. Humoring them I turn them upside down one way and then the other. Finally, I say you know when we try to be someone we aren't we end up either Red with Anger or Green with Jealousy (while finishing the illusion).

more to come.
