Midweek Programming
We meet on Wednesday for a midweek program. Our church has a meal each week during the school year before services begin at 7:00 PM. We have classes all ages of children.
Our nursery used a curriculum put together by our Nursery coordinator. Our 2's and Preschoolers use GROUP's Hands On Curriculum. Our K-3rd Graders use GROUP's FW Friends material during the school year. Our Preteens (4th-6th Grade) girls have a program called Sarah's Daughters that is lead by two ladies. Our Preteen guys meet together for a program called Christian Commandos. Both preteen classes use a variety of materials that the teachers pull from for classes on topics appropriate for daily living of preteens.
Wednesdays can be pretty rough. Kids have been in school all day long and are in no mood to spend their time sitting and listening for another hour. Our classes tend to be interactive, hands on and creative.
Update Summer 2005
This summer I have begun teaching our 3 yr. olds to Pre-K class. We are using puppets, story telling, and lots of active hands on type tools as we explore all that God has created. Our K-3rd Grade is using a new curriculum called KIDMO.
