Categories
There are several categories of puppets. There are marionettes with strings and rod puppets that are mounted on and operated by a stick with a mouth control. You will also find shadow puppets and hand puppets that are very much a glove puppet. Large mouth puppets like those of the Muppets are what many of us think about when we think of a puppet. As you go along you will find there are even more types of puppets than those listed above. Anything that you can give the illusion of life can be a puppet.
