Volunteer Appreciation
Whatever we do and however we empower our volunteers, we can always improve on the way we show our appreciation for our volunteers. This year we showed our appreciation to our teachers by having a "Night at the Oscars." We rented out the local theatre (a historic, downtown theatre) and gave each teacher an award. Some of our members formed a group and sang for us, and our pulpit minister lifted up the importance of Bible class teachers. We created a video using all of our kids and let them thank the teachers and talk about Bible class. Everyone (teachers and the rest of the congregation) were invited, asked to dress up, and have fun with the night. And boy what a night. Dessert was served following the awards. I made my awards by spray painting small plastic toys gold, and then hot gluing them to wooden bases. For nursery workers, I used baby doll bottles; for girls classes, I used small plastic crowns. Just be creative. Below are a few of the pics from the event. Whatever you do, make it memorable.

We are blessed to have a beautiful, historic theatre that host
Christian & Family-friendly events.
We were able to reserve the theatre on a Sunday afternoon (an off time for the
theatre).
